Alicia Keys to play one-off gig at Manchester Cathedral
Global sensation Alicia Keys is set to play an exclusive one-off gig at Manchester Cathedral on Monday, 24th September.
This exclusive gig, set up by MTV, is open to just 1,000 people, and is situated in the heart of a city famous for musical heritage.
A spokesman for MTV said: "Manchester has played a key part in fostering new music and artists from the 60s right through to today’s breaking acts and, with such a significant musical heritage, it’s only fitting that we stage our next ‘MTV Crashes…’ event in the city.
It’s not just the 1,000 people inside the cathedral that will get to experience the magic of Alicia either as the performance will also be broadcast to a global audience of millions on the infamous TV channel MTV.
Only 500 tickets will be released to the public so demand is likely to be high.
Since releasing her critically acclaimed debut album Songs In A-minor in 2001, Alicia Keys has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and won 14 Grammy Awards to become an international superstar.
If you want to win tickets just enter the competition on MTV’s website – entry closes 21st September 2012.
